If you squelch your own interest in stead of showing it, wouldn’t you then be guilt of the very thing you are suggesting the guy don’t do?

I have to agree with chuckrock. I think it’s easier just to be yourself and not worry about how the other person is acting. First of all, none of us knows what the other is thinking, and we’re not going to meet a carbon copy of ourselves (and why would we want to?). I think it’s better to just go with the flow and be yourself. If the man doesn’t like you for who you are, you will find it out a lot sooner if you’re the same person the whole time rather than if you’re “holding back.” I mean, I think most of us are reasonable adults and aren’t going to unload all of our personal crap on someone, but you also don’t want the person to think you’re ok with constantly going out if you’re a homebody. I’m saying be yourself to the point where you’re not misrepresenting yourself.
